Liebster Award Nomination

Liebster Award Nomination

liebster-blog-awardI’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award thanks to Lisa at “Lisa Wroble – Wonderings and Wanderings” I’m so thrilled that Lisa has recognized this blog as having some potential. Thanks so much!

The Liebster Award is intended to recognize up-and-coming blogs, particularly those with fewer than 200 followers. Here are the rules:

  • Post eleven facts about yourself
  • Answer the questions posed by your nominator
  • Pass the award on to a minimum of 5 new recipients
  • Pose eleven new questions to your recipients
  • Post a copy of the badge on your blog (type “Liebster Award” into Google images; you’ll find plenty to choose from).
  • Notify nominees and include links to the originating blog, as well as the new recipients.

Facts about me:
1. I hope to start trying to publish my first novel in the next year or 2.

2.  Fantasy is my favorite genre of reading material.
3.  Science-fiction is probably the one genre of reading that I struggle with most.
4.  I have a now not-so-secret love of historical fiction.
5.  I once took a writing workshop with Lisa Wroble to help my creative copywriting skills.
6.  I work in marketing, but dream of a day when my writing and blog will sustain me fully.
7.  I would love to ask Dean Koontz where all those twisted, crazy ideas come from.
8.  If you ever meet me just know, people tell me their secrets and your secret is safe with me.
9.  I have a wonderful boyfriend of 7 years who is remarkably supportive of my artistic whims.
10.  My whole family except for me has the “running bug” and competes annually in marathons.
11. I’m starting my 2nd year as a self-appointed book reviewer, but would love to work for GoodReads or another such organization.

Q & A:
1. At what age did you catch the writing/art bug? I’ve always been artistic, but I caught the writing bug at 14 (the reading bug at 3).
2. Is the book better than the movie or the movie better than the book? Generally the books are better because it’s hard to capture inner turmoil on screen.
3. Do you prefer ebook or print? I’m still a print girl, but I’m warming up the e-books for the simple sake of storage.
4. What social media do you use most? Personally Facebook; Twitter for the blog.
5. What is your favorite time of day? First thing in the morning. I wake up early, work out and get my day started with a healthy breakfast.
6. What is your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving because it sometimes falls on my b-day so whichever family I celebrate Thanksgiving with can also be part of my b-day.
7. Who is your favorite fictional character? Professor Snape from Harry Potter, but only because of what we find out after he dies. His self-sacrifice was surprising and inspiring.
8. If you could meet an author (or artist) for lunch who would it be and where would you eat? Dean Koontz. I’d take him to a local low-key place here in Naples, FL like Scallywags.
9. What are you currently reading? The Merlin Chronicles: Revelations by Daniel Diel and Life of Pi by Yann Martel
10. What is your favorite genre (or medium)? Fantasy and Historical Fiction

11. Who has been most encouraging of your writing/art career? My dad embraces my artistic side more than anyone in my family; my boyfriend has been most supportive in my writing/blogging
